Advertisers register 1.31% jump in ad insertions: BARC India

As per BARC data for Week 4, brands have witnessed a 5.43% increase in total ad insertions compared to previous week; while HUL tops among advertisers, Lux Toilet Soap leads among brands

There has been an increase of 1.31 per cent in the total number of insertions by advertisers in Week 4, according to the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India.

Data for Week 4 shows there have been 535419 insertions by advertisers as compared to 528502 in the previous week.

Hindustan Lever continues to lead among the top 10 advertisers and has registered a 6.84% increase in insertions to stand at 205133 this week as compared to 191992 insertions in Week 3. Meanwhile, Reckitt Benckiser (India) has maintained its second position with a 15.16% jump to 114491 insertions as compared to 99417 insertions in the previous week.

On the third place is ITC Ltd with 38254 insertions as compared to 42133 insertions in Week 3. Wipro Ltd has entered the top five advertisers’ list with 36003 insertions whereas Brooke Bond Lipton India has dropped one spot to number five with 33612 insertions.

Other advertisers in the top ten list were Ponds India at number six with 26428 insertions and Cadburys India at number seven with 25492 insertions. Smithkline Beecham, Godrej Consumer Products and Lakme Lever have occupied the eighth, ninth and tenth positions with 20551, 18452 and 17003 insertions respectively.

Meanwhile, brands have registered a 5.43 per cent jump in insertions, with the Week 4 total standing at 131482 as compared to 124715 total insertions in the previous week.

Among the top 10 brands, Lux Toilet Soap continues to lead the list. The brand saw an increase of 14.73 per cent to 19351 insertions as compared to 16867 insertions in Week 3. At No. 2, is Dettol Toilet Soaps with 14900 insertions as compared to 15216 insertions in the previous week. Lizol entered the top ten brands’ list this week, standing at number three with 14609 insertions while Lifebuoy Toilet Soaps bagged the fourth spot with 14138 insertions. Trivago stood at number five with 13124 insertions.

Other brands that made it to the top 10 list were Amazon Prime Video at the sixth spot with 12395 insertions and Surf Excel Easy Wash at seventh with 12249 insertions. Harpic, Harpic Bathroom Cleaner and Santoor Beauty Soaps have bagged the eight (10976), ninth (10196) and tenth spots (9544) respectively.
