The week that went by was filled with some key moments from the world of advertising, marketing and media. Some of them went on to make headlines.

Jio Platforms secured yet another major investment from a global tech company. KKR is the latest to pitch in with an investment of Rs 11, 367 crore, taking the total investment the company received to Rs 78,562 crore.

Disney’s Kevin Mayer moved to TikTok as its new CEO. He has also been appointed as the COO of ByteDance, TikTok’s parent company.

Lowe Lintas CEO Raj Gupta has hung up his boots after a 28-year-long association with the agency.

Alibaba founder Jack Ma stepped down from the board of SoftBank. His resignation will be effective on June 25 this year.

Google’s Kenny Kim moved on to the e-learning platform Udacity as its CMO. He was the head of Growth Marketing at Google.

Salary cuts and layoffs made news this week. MullenLowe Lintas slashed salaries by 6-12% to weather the COVID storm. ShareChat laid off 25% of its workforce due to unpredictability in the advertising market.
