Lisa Gibbons, Vice President of Corporate Communications at US Foods, has announced her retirement after nearly three decades in corporate communications. She has been with US Foods for over four years.

In a LinkedIn post, Gibbons said she had achieved a long-standing personal goal of retiring at 50 while serving in a leadership role at a Fortune 500 company. She described her position at US Foods as the “dream job” and said she will remain with the company until 10 June to support a smooth transition.

“After nearly 30 years in corporate communications, today I announced my retirement,” she wrote. She added that she is looking forward to spending more time travelling with her husband, enjoying live music, and being with family and friends.

“It will be surreal to hang up my laptop after 30 years and not be tethered to my email,” she said, adding that she is looking forward to “a whole new world” beyond work.

Prior to joining US Foods, Gibbons spent nearly a decade at Mondelēz International in senior leadership roles, and earlier worked with Kraft Foods Group, Sears Holdings Corporation and the Animal Welfare League.
