Pinterest ropes in veteran Julie Henderson as VP and Chief Communications Officer

  • Pinterest has appointed Julie Henderson as Vice President and Chief Communications Officer, effective July 13, 2023.
  • Henderson has over 30 years of experience in corporate communications, having previously served as Chief Communications Officer at Snap Inc. and 21st Century Fox.
  • In her new role, she will oversee Pinterest's global communications function, including corporate, product, policy, financial, consumer, international, and internal communications.

Pinterest has appointed Julie Henderson as its Vice President and Chief Communications Officer, effective July 13. Henderson announced the appointment through a LinkedIn post.

Henderson brings more than 30 years of experience in corporate communications, having advised leading technology and media companies through periods of growth, transformation, and strategic change. 

In her new role, she will lead Pinterest's global communications function, overseeing corporate, product, policy, financial, consumer, international, and internal communications. She will report to Claudine Cheever, while working closely with Bill Ready. 

Most recently, she served as Chief Communications Officer at Snap Inc., where she was a member of the executive leadership team and led the company's global communications strategy.

Prior to Snap, Henderson was Chief Communications Officer at 21st Century Fox. Earlier, she held the same role at News Corp. Across both organizations, she advised senior leadership on major business transformations, strategic transactions, and policy and regulatory matters.

Earlier in her career, Henderson held leadership positions across communications and corporate strategy at News Corp. She also led the digital practice at MPRM Public Relations, where she advised technology entrepreneurs, startups, and established media companies as they navigated the rapidly evolving digital media landscape.
