Bill Watkins will step down from his role as Chief Revenue Officer at Pinterest at the end of the current quarter. Announcing his departure from the company, Watkins reflected on his 12-year journey at the company, calling it an inspiring chapter of his career.

In this role, he reported directly to the CEO and was a member of the company’s Executive Leadership Team. Bill led the company's global sales organization and monetization efforts, overseeing more than 2,000 employees.

“After twelve inspiring years, my time at Pinterest is winding down & I’ll be leaving the company at the end of the quarter. And what an amazing journey it has been! When I started at the company we had 200 employees, 60M global users, and exactly $0 in revenue. Fast forward to today and we have thousands of employees, 600M global users, and tens of thousands of advertisers that have invested billions of dollars in revenue on our platform”, he stated in his LinkedIn post.

Bill Watkins has been with Pinterest for 12 years and held several leadership roles over the years.

Recently, Pinterest appointed Amazon’s Claudine Cheever as its new Chief Marketing Officer. Cheever replaces Andréa Mallard, Pinterest’s longtime CMO, who recently joined Microsoft AI as Chief Marketing Officer. Apart from Cheever, Pinterest has hired Lee Brown for the newly created role of Chief Business Officer.

Bill is a seasoned professional with over two decades of a career in the Technology sector, with a focus on digital media. Bill joined Pinterest in 2014.
