Yes Bank names Vinay Muralidhar Tonse as MD & CEO

Vinay Muralidhar Tonse has been appointed as Yes Bank’s new Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), for a three-year tenure, starting from the date he officially takes charge. The appointment follows approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
Previously, Tonse was with the State Bank of India, where he served as Managing Director for Retail Business and Operations until 30 November 2025. The bank had been looking for new leadership to drive its growth plans following the extended term of current MD & CEO Prashant Kumar.
Yes Bank also shared that Tonse is fully eligible to serve as a director, with no restrictions from SEBI or any other regulatory body.
