Tarun Garg takes charge as new MD & CEO of Hyundai Motor India from today

- Tarun Garg will take over as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Hyundai Motor India Limited starting January 1, 2026, following Unsoo Kim's resignation on December 31, 2025.
- Garg's appointment was approved by the Company’s Board of Directors on October 14, 2023, while he was serving as Whole-time Director.
- With over 20 years of experience in the Indian automobile sector, Garg has held significant roles at Maruti Suzuki India, including National Sales Head and Executive Director for various divisions.
- Unsoo Kim has been with Hyundai Motor Company since 1991 and has held multiple leadership positions, including Executive Vice President of Global Operations, and previously served Hyundai Motor India from 2014 to 2015.
In a regulatory filing, Hyundai Motor India Limited disclosed that Tarun Garg assumes charge as Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer of Hyundai Motor India from 1 January 2026, following the resignation of Unsoo Kim as MD on 31 December 2025.
The Company’s Board of Directors approved Garg’s new role at a meeting held on 14 October, when he was serving as Whole-time Director.
Garg brings over 20 years of experience in the Indian automobile industry. He previously held leadership roles at Maruti Suzuki India, including National Sales Head and Executive Director – Marketing, Logistics, Parts and Accessories.
Kim joined Hyundai Motor Company, South Korea, in 1991 and has had a distinguished career spanning over three decades with the Hyundai Motor Group. During this period, he held various leadership roles across global markets, gaining extensive experience in business planning, strategy, and operations.
Prior to assuming his leadership responsibilities at Hyundai Motor India, Kim served as Executive Vice President – Global Operations at Hyundai Motor Company. Kim has also previously served Hyundai Motor India for four years, including his tenure as Executive Director of the Corporate Planning Division from 2014 to 2015.
