- Sarvam AI recently raised $234 million in the first close of its $300 million Series B funding round, achieving a post-money valuation of $1.5 billion, with investments from HCLTech, Bessemer Venture Partners, and existing investors.
Sashikumar Sreedharan has been roped in as President and Chief Business Officer at Sarvam AI, as per media reports. In this role, Sreedharan is expected to drive the company’s business strategy and supporting its growth as it expands its AI offerings in India and global markets.
Sreedharan recently stepped down from his role as Managing Director at Google Cloud India, while Amit Kumar, Managing Director of Digital Natives Business at Google Cloud India, has been appointed as interim leader. Karan Bajwa, President, Asia Pacific, Google Cloud, announced the leadership change in a LinkedIn post.
Recently, Sarvam AI was in news after it raised $234 million in the first close of its $300 million Series B at a post-money valuation of $1.5 billion. HCLTech and Bessemer Venture Partners invested in the round, with continued support from existing investors Khosla Ventures and Peak XV Partners.
