M S Unnikrishnan has been appointed as an Independent Director for a five-year term starting January 29, 2026.
With more than 40 years of professional experience, Unnikrishnan is currently the Head and CEO of the IITB-Monash Research Academy. The academy is a collaborative initiative between IIT Bombay and Australia’s Monash University. Before this role, he served as Managing Director of Thermax Group, a leading Indian engineering company known for its work in energy and environmental solutions, with manufacturing operations in India and overseas.
In addition to his executive roles, Unnikrishnan is a board member of several organisations, including KEC International, Kirloskar Brothers, Greaves Cotton, and Livguard Energy Technologies. He is also actively involved in social initiatives and serves as a trustee of The Akshaya Patra Foundation and Jehangir Hospital in Pune.
Unnikrishnan holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur. He has also completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
