- IIFL Finance has appointed Girish Kousgi as Managing Director and CEO of its subsidiary, IIFL Home Finance, effective October 30, 2025.
- Kousgi will manage the company’s operations, including home loans, MSME lending, and construction finance, with a focus on enhancing leadership in the affordable housing sector.
- He brings nearly 30 years of experience in banking and financial services, having previously served as MD & CEO at PNB Housing Finance and Can Fin Homes, among other leadership roles.
- Kousgi aims to make home ownership more accessible for aspiring Indians, particularly in economically weaker sections, leveraging supportive policies like PMAY 2.0.
IIFL Finance announced that its subsidiary, IIFL Home Finance, has appointed Girish Kousgi as its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective October 30, 2025. In his new role, Kousgi will oversee the company’s full range of operations, including home loans, non-home loan products, MSME lending, and construction finance. The company said in a statement that his appointment is aimed at strengthening IIFL Home Finance’s leadership in the affordable housing segment and accelerating growth across all its business lines.
Kousgi brings close to 30 years of experience in the banking and financial services industry, with a proven record of building strong retail lending businesses and driving sustainable growth. He has extensive expertise across asset and liability management, along with in-depth knowledge of mortgages, SME and Agri finance, retail loans, and deposit products.
Before joining IIFL Home Finance, Kousgi served as the MD & CEO of PNB Housing Finance Limited and earlier as MD & CEO of Can Fin Homes, where he led strategic initiatives that improved profitability and operational efficiency. He has also held senior leadership roles at Tata Capital Financial Services, IDFC Bank, and ICICI Bank, managing diverse portfolios across sales, product development, credit, and risk management.
