HDFC Bank Names Keki Mistry Interim Part-Time Chairman After Atanu Chakraborty’s Exit
Keki Mistry’s appointment takes effect from 19 March

HDFC Bank Limited has announced the resignation of Atanu Chakraborty from his position as Part-Time Chairman and Independent Director, with immediate effect from 18 March 2026.
In a regulatory filing, the bank stated that Chakraborty tendered his resignation for reasons outlined in his resignation letter. He had been associated with the bank’s Board since May 2021.
In his resignation letter, Chakraborty cited differences related to certain developments and practices within the bank over the past two years, stating that they were not in alignment with his personal values and ethics. He also noted that there were no other material reasons for his decision.
Separately, HDFC Bank informed that the Reserve Bank of India has approved the appointment of Keki Mistry as interim Part-time Chairman of the bank. The appointment will take effect from 19 March 2026, for a period of three months, following an application made by the bank.
