FSIB recommends Ramakrishnan Chander for LIC Managing Director role

- The Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB) has recommended Ramakrishnan Chander for the Managing Director position at Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC).
- The recommendation followed an assessment of five candidates from LIC on September 30, 2025, based on their performance and experience.
- Chander has over 30 years of experience with LIC, having joined in 1990 and most recently serving as Chief Investment Officer since June 5, 2025.
- This recommendation comes after R. Doraiswamy was appointed as CEO and Managing Director of LIC on July 14, 2025.
The Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB) has recommended Ramakrishnan Chander for the position of Managing Director at Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC). In an official statement, the Bureau announced that it had interfaced with five candidates from LIC on September 30, 2025, to assess their suitability for the role.
FSIB shared, “Keeping in view their performance in the interface, their overall experience and the extant parameters, the Bureau recommends Shri R. Chander for the position of MD in LIC.”
Chander brings over three decades of experience to the position, having joined LIC in 1990 as an Assistant Administrative Officer. Over the years, he has held several leadership positions within the organisation. Most recently, he assumed charge as the Chief Investment Officer and Key Managerial Personnel at LIC on June 5, 2025.
This development follows the appointment of R. Doraiswamy as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of LIC on July 14, 2025. Prior to his elevation to the top role, Doraiswamy had served as MD at LIC.
