  • Dhiraj Gyani has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of IndiaTech.Org, succeeding in the leadership role after serving as Chief Operating Officer.
  • Gyani has been with IndiaTech.Org for over three years, initially joining as Senior Director – Policy & Operations in June 2023 before becoming COO in July 2024.

Dhiraj Gyani has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of IndiaTech.Org, taking over the top leadership role at the technology industry association.

Gyani has been associated with IndiaTech.Org for over three years and was most recently serving as Chief Operating Officer. He joined the organisation in June 2023 as Senior Director – Policy & Operations, before taking on the COO role in July 2024.

In his new role as CEO, Gyani will focus on driving the organisation’s growth and strengthening its engagement with government and regulators, while advancing policy and advocacy initiatives for India’s technology startup ecosystem.

Gyani brings over 24 years of experience across public policy, regulatory affairs, marketing and business development, with experience spanning technology, education, consumer goods, infrastructure and other regulated sectors.

Prior to IndiaTech.Org, Gyani spent over eight years with Microsoft. He served as Director of Government Affairs & Education Business for GitHub from July 2020 to May 2023, where he worked on government engagement, regulatory strategy and the adoption of GitHub across government, academia and startups.

Earlier, he was India Marketing Director – Government and Enterprise Business at Microsoft, followed by the role of India Marketing Lead – Public Sector.

Before joining Microsoft, Gyani was Head of Government Relations at Project Management Institute, where he established the organisation’s government relations practice in India. He began his career in the policy and industry association space with FICCI, serving as Senior Assistant Director.

Gyani is also associated with the Indian School of Public Policy as part-time teaching faculty.

His appointment comes as IndiaTech.Org continues to engage with policymakers and regulators on issues affecting India’s technology and startup ecosystem, including digital economy regulation, taxation, online gaming, mobility, sustainability and emerging technologies.
