The Walt Disney Company has unveiled a new company-wide marketing and brand structure aimed at bringing its marketing teams closer together across businesses and creating a more unified way of engaging with audiences globally. As part of this move, Asad Ayaz has been appointed Chief Marketing and Brand Officer and will head the newly formed organisation.
Ayaz steps into this role after spending eight years as President of Marketing at The Walt Disney Studios, where he also led marketing for Disney+. Since 2023, he has served as Chief Brand Officer, overseeing brand strategy, partnerships, and major events, while guiding Disney’s well-known brands and franchises worldwide.
In his new position, Ayaz will report directly to Disney CEO Bob Iger and work closely with the chairs of the company’s business segments to lead marketing efforts across all units.
The newly created enterprise marketing team will bring together the strengths of Disney’s marketing functions to create a more connected approach to reaching consumers, improving campaign impact, and supporting both segment-level and company-wide business objectives.
Commenting on the appointment, Bob Iger said that over more than 20 years at Disney, Ayaz has played a key role in bringing Disney’s stories and brands to audiences through strong leadership. He added that as Disney’s businesses continue to evolve, having a central role to ensure brand consistency and seamless consumer experiences has become essential, making Ayaz the right choice for this position.
In a joint statement, Disney Entertainment Co-Chairs Alan Bergman and Dana Walden, Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro, and ESPN Chairman Jimmy Pitaro described Ayaz as a creative and strategic leader with deep knowledge of Disney’s brands. They said they look forward to strengthening Disney’s connection with audiences around the world under his leadership.
The unified marketing organisation will build on Ayaz’s experience by aligning shared capabilities and modern marketing tools across the company, enabling greater flexibility, consistency, and innovation in how Disney engages with consumers across all its businesses.
