The public notice issued by Venus Records and Tapes introduces the company as the producers of movie Hathyar starring Sanjay Dutt and Shilpa Shetty. It goes on to read, "With reference to the advertisement appeared in newspapers and other media regarding release/telecast of our film 'Hathyar' on satellite channel, we hereby inform that we have neither assigned nor entered into an agreement for assignment of satellite broadcasting right of the said film "Hathyar", with any person, firm, and/or company."
When contacted by exchange4media, Ratan Jain, Director, Venus Records said, "We were in discussion with Zee, but the date of the telecast was not finalised. It has affected our distributors adversely. Hence, the need for the public notice. However, we have no issues with the telecast of the other movie - Humraaz, we had signed up for."
Will Hathyar be telecast on Zee at a later date? Says Jain, "As of now the deal for the movie is cancelled. However, there is a possibility of a new deal being signed, and the movie being aired on a date convenient to both the channel and us".
Zee President, Apoorva Purohit, however said, "As far as we are concerned, we have no problems with any of the producers."
