India TV Chairman and Editor-in-Chief Rajat Sharma, along with Managing Director Ritu Dhawan, attended an Iftar hosted by Jama Masjid’s Shahi Imam Syed Ahmed Bukhari on the occasion of Alvida Jumma, the last Friday of Ramadan.

Held in the historic courtyards of Delhi’s iconic Jama Masjid, the Iftar was a grand affair marked by warm hospitality, traditional delicacies, and a message of brotherhood. The gathering drew a wide range of dignitaries including diplomats, religious leaders, business personalities, and prominent citizens, reaffirming the enduring spirit of India’s syncretic culture.

The mosque, beautifully lit up for the occasion, came alive as the faithful gathered for Alvida namaz and Iftar.

Speaking at the event, Rajat Sharma highlighted the importance of preserving India’s Ganga-Jamuni tehzeeb — a cultural ethos rooted in peaceful coexistence and shared traditions. “I am happy to see that the Shahi Imam has kept this beautiful tradition alive. In today’s time, it is even more important to celebrate our diversity. This culture, which is slowly fading, must be protected. We all must come together to uphold it,” Sharma said.
