The Delhi High Court has quashed the 2018 CBI FIR against Upendra Rai in a landmark judgement, CMD and Editor-in-Chief of Bharat Express, bringing an end to years of allegations.
Justice Neena Bansal Krishna noted that no public servant was involved in the matter and that it was purely a private contractual dispute rather than a corruption case. The Court also took note of the settlement and the No Objection Affidavit submitted by the complainant company, confirming that it no longer wished to pursue the case.
The Court found no prima facie offence under the Prevention of Corruption Act, which led to the dismissal of all proceedings and providing a clear vindication for Rai.
This judgment reinforces Rai’s long-standing position that the case was motivated and unfounded and stands as a testament to his faith in truth and justice.
