BARC Wk 45: Movies from south spike viewership of Hindi channels

A look at the South Indian movies which boosted the viewership of certain channels in week 45 (November 4-10)

The premiere of South Indian movies has always raked in the viewership of channels in the past and continues to do so for Week 45. The world television premiere of dubbed Tamil action drama film ‘Sura’ on Sony MAX spiked slot viewership by 26 per cent according to BARC ratings for Week 45 (November 4-10). The movie aired on November 10 from 7.59pm to 10.45pm and garnered 0.0045 million impressions as against its previous four weeks average of 0.0036 million impressions for the same time slot. Sony MAX took the top spot in Hindi movie genre with 552 million impressions.

The world television premiere of Tamil drama film ‘Theri’ on Surya TV boosted the slot viewership twice. The movie aired on November 5 from 4.55pm to 8.09pm, fetched 0.0035 million impressions as against its previous four weeks average of 0.0014 million impressions for the same time slot.

In addition to this, world television premiere of action drama film ‘Bangara S/O Bangarada Manushya’ on Udaya TV spiked slot viewership by 25 per cent according to BARC ratings for Week 45 (November 4-10). The movie aired on November 5 from 5.59pm to 9pm and garnered 0.0039 million impressions as against its previous four weeks average of 0.0031 million impressions for the same time slot. Udaya TV took the third spot in the Kannada genre with 198 million impressions.
