BARC Week 34: Zee Anmol leads GEC category collectively for fifth time in a row

In addition to leading the rural market, Zee Anmol's two shows 'Jamai Raja' and 'Kaala Teeka' also led the top 5 programs list in the rural market

According to BARC data for week 34 (August 19–25), Zee Anmol continued to lead collectively in the Hindi GEC category with 815 million impressions. It was followed by Colors with 618 million impressions and Zee TV with 617 million impressions. Zee TV’s three properties, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’, ‘Amul Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs’ and ‘Kundali Bhagya’ made it to the Top 5 programs overall with 10 million impressions, 9.699 million impressions and 9.691 million impressions, respectively.


Colors continued to lead the urban market with 413 million impressions while Zee Anmol continued to rule the rural market with 644 million impressions.







Urban Market


Colors continued to lead the urban market with an improved 413 million impressions, compared to 414 million impressions it had in Week 33. ‘Fear Factor Khatron Ke Khiladi’ helped the Hindi GEC take the top spot as it made to the no.1 position in the Top 5 Programs (Urban) list garnering 7.2 million impressions. Colors’ one more property,’Mahakali Ant Hi Aarambh Hai’ featured on no.4 in the same list fetching 5.8 million impressions.


Star Plus stayed at the second spot with 411 million impressions, compared to 409 million impressions it had in Week 33. Despite this, its show ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ was the least watched in the Top 5 programs list in the same market.


Zee TV maintained its third spot with 370 million impressions as against the 379 million impressions it garnered the previous week. Its two shows ‘Amul Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs’ and ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ grabbed second and third spots on the top 5 programs list in this market garnering 6.7 million impressions and 6 million impressions, respectively.


Sony Entertainment Television came up to the fourth position with 277 million impressions as against previous week’s 280 million impressions.


Sony SAB slipped to the fifth spot with 270 million impressions as against the 288 million impressions it fetched the previous week.







Rural Market


Zee Anmol continued to lead rural market with 644 million impressions with its popular shows ‘Jamai Raja’ and ‘Kaala Teeka’ fetching first and second position in the Top 5 Programs with 7.9 million and 7.2 million impressions, respectively.


Rishtey climbed up to the second spot with 389 million impressions but its show ‘Kasam’ took the last spot in the Top 5 programs (Rural) in the same market with 4.5 million impressions.


Sony Pal slipped to the third spot with 356 million impressions. However, its shows ‘Baalveer’ and ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chasmah’ took the third and fourth spots with 5 million and 4.7 million impressions, respectively.


Star Utsav climbed to the fourth spot with 255 million impressions.


Zee TV slipped to the fifth spot with 246 million impressions.
