The Hindu BusinessLine Changemaker Awards to be held on March 16

Marking the 25th year of the publication, the Hindu BusinessLine Changemaker Awards seek to recognise and celebrate the individuals and organisations who have, through their ideas, innovations and work, contributed to transforming our society in a positive way.

As The Hindu BusinessLine enters the 25th year of its publication, it will mark the occasion with an awards ceremony, the Hindu BusinessLine Changemaker Awards, which seeks to recognise and celebrate the individuals and organisations who have, through their ideas, innovations and work, contributed to transforming our society in a positive way.

For the first edition of the Hindu BusinessLine Changemaker Awards, Arun Jaitley, Union Finance Minister, has been invited as the chief guest. He will be presenting awards to the winners in a glittering ceremony to be held in New Delhi on March 16, 2018, at the ITC Maurya Sheraton Hotel

“The Hindu BusinessLine Changemaker Awards is not just another corporate award celebrating balance sheet or marketplace success. While these are undoubtedly important, we believe that the real heroes who need to be celebrated are those human catalysts of change, whose work benefits not just shareholders and other stakeholders, but society at large” a statement from BusinessLine read.

The Changemaker – Digital Transformation category attracted a slew of nominations, and after an in-depth evaluation the nominees shortlisted include, N Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister, Andhra Pradesh, Hotstar, the streaming platform from the Star India, Ola (ANI Technologies Pvt Ltd), Practo and SIDBI’s UdyamiMitra Portal, a comprehensive digital platform which provides MSMEs better access to credit and expertise.

Overall, more than 600 nominations from diverse applicants were received, out of which a shortlist of 34 nominees was drawn up.

Of these 34 nominations, six winners chosen by an eminent jury chaired by Niti Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant, and comprising former HSBC chief Naina Lal Kidwai, Nasscom President-designate Debjani Ghosh, Arghyam founder-chairperson Rohini Nilekani, TVS Capital Funds CMD Gopal Srinivasan, former TCS Vice-Chairman S Ramadorai and Omidyar Network investment partner CV Madhukar will be announced during the ceremony on March 16.
