The winning Genpact-Reckitt Benckiser team talks about their victory and how they plan to prepare for the next round

Winners speak: Amar Ujala MQ 2012 Delhi

The Genpact-Reckitt Benckiser team of Rohan Khanna and Tanmay Prusty emerged as winners of the Delhi round of Amar Ujala MQ 2012. The winning team shares with exchange4media on what it felt to emerge victorious at the Delhi round. Clinching a score of 65 points, the duo flew past other competing teams.

Tanmay Prusty, a Senior Brand Manager at Genpact, took it in his stride as he said, “Everyone wants to win.” When asked whether he had expected to win, he said his honest answer would be “Yes and no”. Prusty added here, “Winning always makes one feel nice. There is also a sense of relief as we were not expecting to win as there was some tough competition.”

He is no stranger to the quizzing world, as he admitted that he had been quizzing since his school days. Plus being an advertising and media professional also helped. “One cannot really ‘prepare’, but one can watch TV, read newspapers,” he said, adding that he would make sure to brush up his knowledge as much as he could before entering the final round.

Echoing the same sentiment, Rohan Khanna said, “We will try to watch more television and will keep ourselves updated as it will help us in the grand finale.” Incidentally, Khanna was part of the winning team of the Delhi regionals of the Media Quotient Quiz last year too. Prusty had also participated last year, but from Kolkata.

Quiz masters for the Delhi regionals this year were Mohit Joshi, Managing Director, MPG India and Suresh Balakrishnan, CEO, Lintas Media Group.

The next round of the Amar Ujala Media Quiz was held in Kolkata on June 22. Bangalore will hold the Media Quotient Quiz on June 27. The grand finale will be held in Mumbai on June 29.
