The Indian marketing and advertising fraternity is reeling from the sudden passing of veteran marketer Aroon Kumar, widely known to his peers and followers as the ‘Marketing Futurist’. The tragic news was shared via an emotional tribute on LinkedIn by Dr. Kushal Sanghvi, a prominent digital transformer and a close long-time friend of Kumar.

Dr. Sanghvi revealed that he was informed of the passing by Kumar’s wife, Sagya, who reached out through her late husband’s WhatsApp account. The cause of death was a sudden cardiac arrest. His final professional contribution was a blog post published on LinkedIn on January 30, 2026.

Kumar was a stalwarth figure in the sector, boasting a career that spanned over two decades. He was celebrated for his forward-thinking approach to the industry, regularly sharing insights on the changing landscape of marketing.

Despite his high-profile career, Kumar was remembered by peers for his warmth and camaraderie. Dr. Sanghvi’s post highlighted the "fragility of life," noting that the two had planned to catch up over coffee in Delhi just ten days ago—a meeting that sadly never happened.
