Prega News partners with Spicejet to make air travel pleasant for pregnant women

As part of the collaboration, a Spicejet aircraft Boeing 737-800 Series has been wrapped with Prega News branding

During pregnancy, most women feel uncomfortable during travel and there’s always a risk of situations becoming problematic. Prega News, a pregnancy detection kit from Mankind Pharmaceuticals, has recently started an initiative to make expectant mothers feel comfortable during their travel. Prega News has partnered with Spicejet to make air travel more comfortable and enjoyable for pregnant fliers.


This partnership came after the success of their digital campaign #YourSecondHome, aired during Mother’s Day targeting corporates. The campaign was centred on women who continue to work throughout their pregnancy and the problems they face at their workplaces.


The idea behind the earlier campaign was to make the working environment friendlier for expectant mothers and now they have taken a step forward in making travel safer and convenient for pregnant women.


As part of the collaboration, a Spicejet aircraft Boeing 737-800 Series has been wrapped with Prega News branding. The mother will be given extra care and attention during travel, right from ticket booking, check-in point, collection of luggage and reaching the destination. 


Commenting on the initiative, Rajeev Juneja, CEO, Mankind Pharma said, “Prega News being a leading brand in pregnancy detection kits has always connected with the customer through its various campaigns designed to value the beautiful pregnancy period. The current campaign, where we have integrated with Spicejet to pamper pregnant ladies during the travels, is also created to emphasize on issues which are otherwise overlooked. Since the campaign transmits a very important message we plan to popularize it through multiple avenues. We will promote it across the airports through required branding. We would create awareness about this initiative on the Prega News website and also use all the social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter. This is going to be a mega initiative by Prega News and we will ensure its maximum reach. This is just a beginning and Prega News has plans to come up with more such initiatives.”


Spicejet is on a roll after having good fiscal year 2016-17 in which they reported a net profit of Rs. 430 crore. It is not the first time Spicejet has collaborated with a brand for a ‘Flying-Bill board,’ they have been associated with other brands like Tata Hexa and Telangana Tourism.  


When e4m asked what the motive was behind launching the campaign, Rajeev Juneja said, “We saw an amazing response from our previous campaign #SecondHome. Our intentions are to make expecting mothers comfortable in an office. Our effort has been appreciated and then we thought why to confine ourselves to office, why not during the travel? Travelling is another phase where women find themselves uncomfortable.”


Debojo Maharshi, Chief Marketing Officer, Spicejet, said, “Spicejet is excited to be associated with Mankind Pharma in their upcoming campaign for expecting mothers. We at Spicejet felt that this was a unique initiative as well as an opportunity to do our bit for the ‘real creators’ that are there with us. Being a partner in this integration, Spicejet is pledging its prime real estate, i.e. plane wrap, for the integration. The wrap will cover both sides of the aircraft. We feel that this wrap will add the gravitas behind the initiative and give the much deserved impetus to it.”
