As part of its widely renowned Inspiring Women line, Barbie is set to celebrate tennis legend Venus Williams with a new doll. Priced at ₹2,999, the doll will be available exclusively at Hamleys starting August 2025. This launch is particularly significant as it marks the debut of the Inspiring Women series in India.
The Inspiring Women of Venus Williams Barbie depicts the athlete in her famous white costume from her 2007 Wimbledon triumph, which marked a turning point in the struggle for equal prize money in professional tennis and added to her seven Grand Slam victories. The ensemble is completed with a racket, ball, wristband, visor, and a green gem necklace, all of which symbolize her presence on the court at that momentous occasion.
Williams worked closely with the Barbie design team to make sure the doll captured her true personality and sense of style. The release comes after a 2024 special edition Barbie that commemorated nine female athletes who broke new ground in honour of Barbie's 65th anniversary.

Barbie has celebrated role models from over 250 professions since its founding in 1959 with the goal of inspiring young girls with boundless potential. By highlighting international icons whose bravery and tenacity broke down barriers and changed history, the Inspiring Women series carries on this tradition.
With this launch, Mattel celebrates Venus Williams as a strong champion for empowerment, resilience, and pay equity in addition to her athletic accomplishments, inspiring the next generation to dream big and confidently pursue their goals.
