The conversation around women in leadership has evolved significantly over the past decade. Today, we see more women founders, more women in CXO roles and stronger representation across industries. That progress matters. But representation alone does not build institutions. True leadership is about building something that endures.
When I started Soulflower, I did not set out with the ambition of simply launching a beauty brand. As an architect by training, I have always believed in the power of strong foundations. What began as experimenting with essential oils and preservative-free blends gradually evolved into a larger purpose: giving consumers clarity in a market often crowded with exaggerated claims and confusing labels. That conviction shaped our “Farm to Face” philosophy by building clean, transparent, and performance-driven products rooted in trust.
Over the years, I have learned that trust is not only an emotional value, but it is also a business strategy. When consumers return without heavy discounting, it signals trust. When platforms prioritise performance metrics over promotional spending, it reflects credibility. In a category driven by trends and rapid launches, consistency and transparency build lasting relevance.
As we look toward the next decade, leadership will need to evolve alongside changing consumer expectations and technological shifts. AI and data-driven decision-making will reshape how businesses operate, while Gen Z will redefine workplace culture with their emphasis on authenticity, accountability, and purpose. Leaders will need to balance agility with discipline and innovation with responsibility.
For women leaders especially, the next phase of progress must move beyond visibility to influence. The real shift will happen when more women participate in capital decisions, build enduring enterprises, and shape long-term value. The goal is no longer just entering the room, but building institutions that continue to matter long after the spotlight fades. I’ve always believed in standing up for what’s honest, and we turned that conviction into a brand that is built to last. Over time, that passion became power. Not loud power, but the kind that comes from building something real, compliant, and trusted.
