The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reported Rs 9,741.7 crore in revenue for the financial year 2023–24, as per a report by ICYMI and Rediffusion.

A significant portion of this revenue, over 59.10%, amounting to Rs 5,761 crore, came from the Indian Premier League (IPL), making it the crown jewel of Indian cricket’s financial landscape.

Additionally, the BCCI received Rs 1,042 crore from the International Cricket Council (ICC), which accounted for 10.70% of its total revenue, reflecting India’s dominant role in global cricket.

BCCI’s fixed deposits and investments brought in Rs 987 crore in interest income, contributing 10.10% to its overall revenue.

The board also earned Rs 361 crore from non-IPL media rights, which includes broadcasting rights for international cricket matches and tournaments, accounting for 3.90% of its total revenue.

The debut of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) generated Rs 378 crore, contributing 3.9% to the overall revenue, marking a promising start for women’s cricket in India.

Furthermore, Rs 361 crore came from ticket sales, hospitality, and commercial rights for India’s home international fixtures, making up 3.7% of the total revenue.

An additional Rs 400 crore, or 4.1% of the revenue, came from miscellaneous sources, showcasing BCCI’s diverse income streams beyond major tournaments.

With 59% of its revenue from the IPL, coupled with emerging streams like WPL and global media rights, BCCI continues to solidify its position in global cricket.
