Red FM launches platform to empower independent artists & musicians

The logo of ‘Red Indies' was launched in Delhi on World Music Day on Friday

On the occasion of World Music Day on Friday, Red FM took a step forward to promote independent music and artistes by launching ‘Red Indies’ at an event held in Delhi. The do also witnessed the unveiling of Red Indies logo in the presence of various artistes.

Indie music is seeing resurgence in India with talents emerging from all corners. With an agenda of finding new talent, brand RED FM wants to support the artistes by giving them an established language agnostic platform that will help take their music to the audience.

Talking about the initiative, Nisha Narayanan, COO & Director, Red FM said, “Through this platform, we want to discover new music and present it to the audience to choose. We would love to be language platform agnostic. We hope to utilise our brand RED FM to take this initiative forward. Red Indies has planned a number of initiatives to grow this tribe of independent artists. We will announce the details in due course.”

Some other brands such as Saavn, Gaana and Hungama have also done something similar in the past. Amongst the radio brands, Red FM took the plunge and decided to take the lead.  

Artistes from different parts of the country came together for the launch and also did a small gig for the audience. Singer Millind Gaba enthralled everyone by singing some of his famous tracks.
