Motor Vikatan to celebrate 7th anniv with special issue
To promote the anniversary issue, the Tamil automobile magazine to conduct an extensive campaign using print, online and on-ground media
Motor Vikatan, a Tamil automobile magazine from Vikatan Group, will complete seven years of existence in 2013. The anniversary special, packed with 128 pages, will be on stands from January 1, 2013.
The print run is expected to be one lakh copies.
The theme for the anniversary issue is ‘7’. To synchronize with the theme, Vikatan has brought out articles on 7 super cars, 7 super bikes, 7 racers, 7 new launches and 7 new gadgets.
Speaking to exchange4media, Pravin Menon, National Head – Ad Sales said, “2013 is going to be the year of Motor Vikatan. We have been in this market for 85 years; we understand the market and readers well. What works for us is first mover advantage. Our online followers have been growing too. In a competitive market, to grow consistently is a great achievement.”
In order to promote the anniversary issue, Vikatan will be conducting an extensive campaign on print and online media.
Prior to the release of the anniversary issue, the brand has planned on-ground activations across 7 cities in Tamil Nadu. With Motor Vikatan’s efforts on spreading the message of road safety and in order to prevent mishaps such as drink and drive, volunteers from Vikatan will carry messages on road safety and will also distribute hand bills on the same subject. Since first week of January is observed as road safety week, Vikatan will join hands with the traffic police to spread this message.
Advertisers from the two-wheeler and car segment such as Bajaj Pulsar, Hero Honda, TVS Apache, Volkswagen, Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata, Maruti Suzuki, BharathBenz have tapped the magazine.
