India’s historic victory in the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup final didn’t just dominate the cricket field and our hearts, but also our social media feeds. And now an unexpected social media conversation between Delhi Police, Ahmedabad Police and Uttar Pradesh Police has caught the attention of fans online.
The banter began during the match when Delhi Police posted a humorous message on their official X account, tagging Ahmedabad Police and joking about the number of sixes being hit.
The said message was, “Dear @AhmedabadPolice, You may get ball disappearance complaints from Kiwi’s. No need to take it seriously… it’s our batsmen sending them to the stands.”
The playful warning referred to India’s powerful batting display, which saw balls repeatedly flying into the stands. The tweet quickly gained traction as fans enjoyed the light-hearted commentary from a law-enforcement account.
Ahmedabad Police joined the fun almost immediately, replying with a tongue-in-cheek response that kept the joke alive.
“Thank you for bringing this to our attention. The matter has been reported to the Higher Police officials.”
As the exchange gained momentum online, Uttar Pradesh Police added their own punchline, referencing India’s pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, whose bowling performance helped seal the victory.
“CASE STATUS UPDATE Earlier complaint: Ball going missing. New complaint: Entire batting lineup going missing. Our assessment: This is not a law & order problem. This is Bumrah.”
