- Anil Baluni, the former head of the national media department, has been designated as the coordinator of the party's communication department, which encompasses both national media and social media units.
- Agrawal expressed gratitude to BJP national president Nitin Nabin, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, and Baluni for their trust and support, committing to effectively communicate the party's views and government initiatives.
- Prior to this role, Agrawal served as the Madhya Pradesh BJP's state media in-charge and was previously appointed co-convenor of the national media department on 17 August 2026.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has appointed Ashish Usha Agrawal as convenor of its national media department. The appointment was announced in a party release issued on 23 September 2026.
Senior leader and MP Anil Baluni, who previously headed the national media department, has been appointed coordinator of the BJP’s communication department. The communication department includes the party’s national media and social media units.
Agrawal thanked BJP national president Nitin Nabin for the new responsibility. He also expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, and Anil Baluni for their trust.
Agrawal said he would carry out the responsibility with dedication and commitment, and work to communicate the organisation’s views and policies, as well as the government’s welfare initiatives, to the public.
He also thanked the party’s senior leaders, workers, supporters and journalists for their guidance and support.
Before this appointment, Agrawal was the Madhya Pradesh BJP’s state media in-charge. On 17 August 2026, he was appointed co-convenor of the BJP’s national media department. He has now been elevated to convenor of the department.
