Zomato joins Zoom calls to stay connected with patrons

With COVID-19 pushing most of the workforce to resort to video conferencing apps for tiding through the lockdown and Work From Home situation, Zomato has come up with a new wave to market itself on the ZOOM app.

The app recently launched a digital campaign wherein it has been providing quirky wallpapers to all ZOOM users.

The backgrounds are hard to miss, few also have quirky one-liners like Plans after this call: Cook Food, Eat Food; If you don’t see a coffee mug in the frame, remind me; Dalgona fan; Chai is better than dalgona; Likely to go eat pancakes after this call and many more.

So, what went behind the campaign? Zomato says they wanted to bring a fun element to the team calls.

“Even before the quarantine, everyone always had food on their minds. We believe that’s the one thing that hasn't changed and may even have got amplified in these times. To bring a fun element to the team calls, we created these Zomato wallpapers. There are so many for people to choose from, and you are sure to find more than one that you resonate with,” said Zomato India’s spokesperson.

The company has also been at the forefront since the outbreak of the novel Coronavirus. They have started delivering groceries in more than 80 cities in India. Zomato has also launched the Gold Support Fund in a bid to support millions of restaurant workers of the food industry who are on the verge of losing their livelihoods.
