Google has removed the Indian app ‘Remove China Apps’ from its Play Store. It has been removed after it was found to have violated some of Google’s policies. The app lets users detect and remove Chinese apps, like TikTok and UC Browser, on the phone.

The app clocked more than five million downloads since it was introduced, riding on the anti-China sentiments in the country. India and China are currently embittered in a border dispute in the Himalayan regions.

Stating that the app has violated company policies, the Google spokesperson refused to divulge anything more about the company’s decision to remove the app. Google has strict policies against apps that mislead users into removing or disabling third-party apps.

The website of OneTouchAppLabs confirmed on their website that the app has been removed and thanked the users for their support.
