Cannes Lions 2026 Day 3: 4 shortlisted campaigns carry India’s hopes into tonight’s awards

Direct and Media account for India’s entire Day 3 shortlist haul, while PR, Social & Creator and Creative Data draw a blank

  • The Cannes Lions 2026 awards night will announce winners in categories including Direct, Media, PR, Social & Creator, and Creative Data, with India having four shortlisted entries across Direct and Media.
  • India has two shortlisted campaigns in the Direct Lions category: Blinkstop by 82.5 Communications and Grey India, and The Kolhapuri campaign by VML India.
  • In the Media category, India also has two shortlisted entries: the Vim Ka Mahakadhai Record campaign by Mindshare India and the Box to Beds campaign for Amazon by Ogilvy Mumbai.
  • In 2025, India had a stronger performance with 28 shortlists and 14 Lions across various categories, including notable wins in Direct and Media.

The third awards night at Cannes Lions 2026 will see winners announced across Direct, Media, PR, Social & Creator and Creative Data.

India heads into Day 3 with four shortlisted entries across two categories. Direct and Media have contributed two shortlisted campaigns each, while the country failed to secure any shortlists in PR, Social & Creator and Creative Data.

Direct: 2 Shortlists

India secured two shortlists in the Direct Lions category.

Blinkstop by 82.5 Communications Mumbai and Grey India has earned a shortlist in Direct.

The second shortlisted entry is The Kolhapuri campaign for Kalapuri by VML India, Mumbai.

Media: 2 Shortlists

India has also secured two shortlists in Media.

Vim Ka Mahakadhai Record campaign for Vim by Mindshare India, Mumbai, has made the shortlist.

The second shortlisted campaign is the Box to Beds campaign for Amazon by Ogilvy Mumbai.

How India fared in these categories in 2025

India enjoyed a significantly stronger showing in these categories last year, securing 28 shortlists and 14 Lions across Direct, Media, PR, Social & Creator and Creative Data.

In Direct, FCB India won a Gold Lion for Lucky Yatra for Indian Railways, while Havas India secured a Bronze Lion for Ink of Democracy for The Times of India.

Media proved to be India’s strongest category among today’s awards in 2025, delivering five Lions. Leo India won a Silver Lion for Takeoff Takeover for Cathay Pacific Airways, while Ogilvy India (Eye Test Menu), Havas India (Ink of Democracy), Dentsu Creative India (Garuda Rakshak) and Talented (Nature Shapes Britannia) picked up Bronze Lions.

In PR, Lucky Yatra for Indian Railways by FCB India dominated the category, winning a Grand Prix, Gold, Silver and Bronze Lion. Ogilvy India’s Box to Beds for Amazon also secured a Bronze Lion.

Social & Creator saw Ogilvy India win Gold for Erase Valentine’s Day for Cadbury 5 Star, while BBH India earned a Bronze Lion for Bassi vs Men’s Face Wash for Garnier.

In Creative Data, Leo India’s Acko Tailor Test for Acko Health Insurance won a Gold Lion.

The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity 2026 continues in Cannes, France, with the third set of winners set to be announced tonight.
