Anna Hazare and his team’s battle to end graft has found grass-root support across the country, according to a Star News-Nielsen survey of 8,900 people conducted nationwide, with a staggering 87 per cent of respondents saying that they support the Jan Lokpal proposed by the 74-year-old Gandhian – which demands a powerful Lokpal with sweeping powers to investigate cases of corruption against the politicians, the bureaucracy and the judiciary – over the one tabled by the Government in the Parliament earlier this month.
