Ruksh Chatterji appointed as CMO of IIFL Investment Managers

Ruksh Chatterji will now be taking on the additional responsibilities of Branding, Communications, Gifting and Public Relations at IIFL Investment Managers. Chatterji has been associated with IIFL Investment Managers family as partner in Mumbai for the last six months and has been working on a range of strategic projects around the future digitalisation of the company. He will also be driving special projects on making the marketing function more data-driven and analytical.

Previously, Chatterji was Co-founder and COO at RevX Inc, an advertising technology start-up based in Bangalore and NY, backed by VC’s such as Norwest, Nexus, DFJ, Peepul Capital amongst others, where he was instrumental in building a business around a technology idea and taking the operation to profitability. Prior to that, he was VP in-charge of India, for Komli Media, where he turned-around the loss-making India entity and enabled the sale of the brand to SVG Media. He has also been part of the founding leadership team at Jabong.com, where he was CEO of the apparel division and drove about 50% of the company’s revenue and its rise as a key competitor to Myntra.com .

Chatterji has led digital enterprises and operations for 6 years, prior to which, he was a consultant with Bain & Co. in New York – where he specialized in PE due diligence. Chatterji has an MBA in Finance and Operations from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, USA. He also has a Masters in Mass Communication from MCRC, Jamia Millia Islamia and a BSc. (Hons) in Electronics from Venkateswara College, Delhi University. Prior to his MBA, he spent close to a decade as an investigative journalist and was Bureau Chief for CNN-IBN in Mumbai and part of the founding team of the channel. He has also worked as part for the film crew on Apaharan, and was also Cinematographer for Manish Sharma’s, award-nominated short feature film ‘Sifar’- which got a special mention at the Cannes Film Festival in 2005. Chatterji began his career at NDTV, as the first employee on NDTV.com in 1999.
