The Indian advertising industry is in mourning following the death of Piyush Pandey, one of the country's most celebrated and influential advertising professionals. News of his passing prompted an outpouring of tributes from across the creative community.
Prasoon Joshi, Chairman of the Central Board of Film Certification and prominent advertising professional, shared his grief on X (formerly Twitter) upon hearing the news while traveling abroad.
"In transit overseas. Hard to believe Piyush's laughter is now only in memory. What a remarkable era - a man who made work feel like life itself. One for whom emotion was strategy, and simplicity, craft," Joshi wrote in his tribute.
He continued: "Farewell, Piyush - the ad world will forever carry your signature and magic and in so many of us your authenticity and laugher will echo forever. Om shanti."
Joshi's words captured the sentiment shared by many in the industry who remembered Pandey not just for his creative brilliance, but for his infectious personality and his ability to bring joy and humanity to the world of advertising.
