Ad Club Bangalore to host webinar on recession & disaster proofing of agencies

The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in the majority of the world being under lockdown with restricted movements. This has led to businesses across the board being impacted, with the media and advertising industry taking a hit on account of advertisers cutting back on ad-spends in a bid to control costs.

“These 21 days are going to be life-changing for many business owners in India. While we can’t really debate about the lockdown, this lockdown and the impact of Coronavirus is surely going to challenge the existence of many advertising agencies in India as well as the world. There are times, when you are thinking and wondering how to recalibrate or re-engineer your business. Uncertainty is all around us and many a thought would be running through the minds of the leaders,” says Laeeq Ali, President of The Ad Club Bangalore & Co- of Origami Creative and Bloombox Brand Engineers.  

Speaking on the current scenario, Arvind Kumar, Executive Director, The Advertising Club - Bangalore says, 'The media & advertising industry - across the spectrum - have been distressed due to the impact of the lockdown on account of Covid-19. Businesses are unsure about what lies  in the immediate future, particularly in the next three months, as business is at a standstill, supplies flying off shelves and logistics being a concern. In addition, the government has appealed that there should be no layoffs or wage cuts, this adds to the financial burden."

 With a lot of ambiguity prevailing in the industry, The Advertising Club Bangalore has taken this as an opportunity to organise a webinar with Vincent Dong, President, Ad-Vice Software & Consulting Inc and member of CPA. The objective is to help industry professionals gain insights and equip themselves with the knowledge to tide through, and even overcome the downtrend in the economy. Dong will share his diverse experience and expertise honed over 31 years in a myriad of businesses, across the world.
