Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal were scheduled to marry on 23 November 2025 in the cricketer’s hometown of Sangli. However, on the morning of the ceremony, Smriti’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, experienced a major health scare and was urgently hospitalised. As per reports, following this development, both families mutually agreed to pause all wedding celebrations and focus entirely on his recovery.
Removal of Pre-Wedding Posts Sparks Discussion
Soon after the postponement, fans noticed that Smriti had deleted all wedding-related posts from her Instagram, including engagement visuals and pre-wedding celebration moments. Her teammates, who had earlier shared glimpses from the festivities, also removed the posts.

While this sparked online speculation, multiple reports confirm that the decision to postpone the wedding is strictly due to her father’s health, with no statement suggesting a cancellation.
Many fans responded immediately with messages of concern and support for Smriti and her father saying, ‘respect for Smriti only grows’.” Comments such as “Family comes first” and “Sending prayers for recovery” with majority of followers interpreted the post-removal of posts as a responsible and respectable move — focusing on family over spectacle.
