Microsoft has announced that it is now offering free, unlimited access to two of its premium Copilot AI features, Think Deeper and Voice, to all users of the platform. The announcement marks a significant expansion of Microsoft's AI strategy as it continues to position Copilot as an 'ultimate AI companion' two years after its initial launch.

Think Deeper, which is powered by OpenAI's o1 model, enables users to leverage advanced reasoning capabilities for complex tasks such as comparing products, evaluating home renovation investments, or making significant purchasing decisions.

Meanwhile, the Voice feature allows for hands-free, conversational interactions with the AI assistant, from practising phrases in foreign languages to receiving step-by-step cooking instructions.

"We are seeing a lot of excitement for Voice and Think Deeper and we know many of you have been hitting limits. This should help. And if you haven’t tried some of these experiences yet, there has never been a better time," the announcement read.

While Microsoft is making these features available to all users, the company cautioned that experiences may vary during high-demand periods, and Copilot Pro subscribers will still receive preferred access to the latest models and early access to experimental features.

This move comes as competition in the AI assistant space intensifies, with companies increasingly making advanced capabilities more accessible to broader audiences. Microsoft's decision to remove usage restrictions on premium features could potentially accelerate adoption rates while maintaining a tiered approach through its Copilot Pro subscription.
