With the country in the first phase of the markets opening up and industries gradually going back on track, we reported several developments of key importance to the advertising and marketing industry.

One of the biggest developments in the consumer world this week was Nisaba Godrej taking over as Godrej Consumer Products MD & CEO from Vivek Gambhir.

Also, GroupM India gave ITV MD Ajay Mehta the additional role of leading Kinetic. Mehta will continue to be based out of Gurgaon and will report to Prasanth Kumar, CEO, GroupM South Asia.

Meanwhile, WPP has appointed Angela Ahrendts to its board as Non-Executive Director. Prior to this, Ahrendts was Senior Vice President, Retail at Apple, Inc. from May 2014 until April 2019.

We also reported about L&K Saatchi & Saatchi roping in Atin Wahal to head North & East regions. Wahal joins L&K Saatchi & Saatchi from BBDO India where he was EVP & Head of Mumbai office. He will be reporting to Paritosh Srivastava, MD, L&K Saatchi & Saatchi.

In some development in the digital world, Google has updated its ad policies that prohibit 'unlawful discrimination' against users. The new update will prevent impacted employment, housing, and credit advertisers from targeting or excluding ads based on gender, age, parental status, marital status, or ZIP Code.

In some analysis we reported how TV could be seeing a revival in advertising. Experts are upbeat about June and July in terms of AdEx as more brands are poised to resume advertising post Unlock 0.1.
