Bharti Airtel has appointed senior journalist Romit Guha as its Head of Corporate Communications, where he will lead both external and internal communications strategy for the telecom major.
Guha announced his move in a LinkedIn post,“After nearly 28 amazingly exciting years in journalism, I finally move to the other side: the corporate world. Today, Nov 10, I have joined Bharti Airtel to lead the communications strategy at India’s third largest company by market cap.”
Guha also thanked Airtel’s leadership for placing their trust in him. “I am eternally grateful to the leaders at Airtel who have had the confidence in my abilities to allow me to take the lead in such a critical function - effective communication- in today’s world and times.”
With more than 28 years in journalism, including over 12 years at The Economic Times and key roles at The Wall Street Journal, Dow Jones Newswires, Thomas Reuters and others, Guha brings deep newsroom and strategic communication expertise to Airtel. His appointment signals Airtel’s continued focus on sharp, agile, and transparent communication as the telecom industry navigates rapid digital transformation.
