SIB names Jose Joseph Kattoor as Non-Executive Part-Time Chairman (Independent Director)

South Indian Bank has (SIB) appointed Jose Joseph Kattoor as the Non-Executive Part-Time Chairman (Independent Director) of the Bank, effective March 23, 2026, for a term of three years. The appointment follows the sanction accorded by the Reserve Bank of India on February 3, 2026.

Jose Kattoor has been serving as an Independent Director on the Board of South Indian Bank since July 18, 2024. In his new role as Non-Executive Part-Time Chairman, he will work closely with the Board and senior management.

Jose Kattoor succeeds V J Kurian, who successfully completed his tenure as Non-Executive Part-Time Chairman (Independent Director) from November 2, 2023, to March 22, 2026. Kurian has been associated with the Bank’s Board since March 23, 2018, as an Independent Director and has played a pivotal role in steering the Bank’s strategic transformation and offering prudent guidance during both the periods of opportunity and challenge.

Kattoor brings over three decades of experience with the Reserve Bank of India, where he served from 1991 to 2023. During his tenure as Executive Director, he led key departments including Enforcement, Corporate Strategy, Currency, and Human Resources.
