Rajat Uppal, a seasoned media and marketing professional, has stepped down from his role at Stage Aaj Tak, the consumer events vertical of the India Today Group. Prior to Stage Aaj Tak which was launched in January this year, he was the National Marketing & Programming Head at India Today Group’s Radio Network – 104.8 Ishq FM.
Uppal joined Ishq FM in December 2020, bringing with him two decades of experience in media, marketing, and brand leadership. At Ishq FM, he spearheaded the brand and helped the station carve out a distinctive presence in the crowded FM space. Under his leadership, Ishq FM sharpened its identity as a youthful and emotionally resonant brand, leveraging music, lifestyle initiatives, and cross-industry collaborations.
Transitioning to launch ‘Stage Aaj Tak’ with the ‘Millionaire Tour with Yo Yo Honey Singh’, Stage Aaj Tak delivered the biggest comeback tour for any artist in India till date.
Prior to Ishq FM, Uppal held senior leadership roles across the media spectrum, including stints at HT Media, Reliance Broadcast and RED FM, where he developed expertise in brand building, experiential marketing & building event IPs. His career has consistently reflected a blend of strategic thinking and creative execution, earning him recognition across India’s media and marketing fraternity.
