The Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) has appointed Vibhor Jain as its managing director and chief executive officer with effect from 7 April. Jain had been serving in the role on an interim basis following the departure of Thampy Koshy in April last year.
Prior to this, he was the organisation’s chief operating officer.
Commenting on the network’s direction, Jain said the focus will be on strengthening use cases enabled by open and interoperable digital infrastructure, particularly those that are not typically supported by single-platform models. He added that ONDC will continue to build services for participants including farmers, artisans, small retailers and gig workers.
The organisation has also made additions to its senior leadership team. Rohit Lohia has joined as chief business officer, while Manoj Thakur has been appointed chief technology officer.
