Tata Trusts has approved another five-year extension for N Chandrasekaran as Chairman of Tata Sons, as per an Economic Times report.
Chandrasekaran joined the Board of Tata Sons in October 2016 and was appointed as Chairman in January 2017.
Prior to this, he was with TCS for 30 years led the company as CEO and MD for eight years.
The ET report says this comes amid deliberations within the company to retain Tata Sons' status as a private entity. Besides, Tata Sons has also entrusted Chandrasekharan to negotiate an exit for the Shapoorji Pallonji Group for an exit from the holding company.
