Debasree Dasgupta is set to be appointed as the new Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Global Business Development at Pernod Ricard India, effective November 1. She will take over the role currently held by Kartik Mohindra.
Sources close to this development have confirmed this to e4m.
Earlier in July, exchange4media was the first to report that William Grant & Sons (WG&S) had named Kartik Mohindra as Managing Director, India, effective September 30. With his exit, Pernod Ricard now ushers in the next chapter of its leadership transition.
Dasgupta will formally assume charge in November but will relocate to India on February 1, 2026, to take on her responsibilities from the ground. This phased approach allows for continuity while ensuring a smooth handover.
Kartik Mohindra has been a pivotal figure in Pernod Ricard India’s growth story, driving brand equity and strengthening the company’s presence in a competitive market. His leadership has been credited with steering the company through shifts in consumer behaviour and a changing regulatory environment.
Dasgupta steps into the role with an impressive track record. Currently Global Vice President for Absolut, she took on the position in 2023 and has since overseen the brand’s international strategy. Her career spans senior marketing roles at PepsiCo, Reckitt, and Unilever, giving her a diverse portfolio across categories and geographies.
Her appointment underscores Pernod Ricard’s strategy of blending global expertise with local execution. With her deep understanding of consumer markets and proven ability to drive premiumisation and innovation, Dasgupta is expected to bring fresh perspective and energy to the India business.
