Coal India Limited has named B Sairam as its Chief Executive Officer, marking the first time the company has created the role of CEO. He will continue to serve as Chairman and Managing Director alongside his new responsibility.
In a stock exchange filing, Coal India said that its Board, at a meeting held on December 26, approved the appointment of B Sairam, CMD of the company, as CEO.
The decision was cleared by the Board of Directors, and the appointment has taken effect from December 15, 2025.
Before taking charge as Chairman and Managing Director of Coal India, Sairam was the CMD of Northern Coalfields Limited, one of Coal India’s key subsidiary companies.
