Dentsu X has promoted Bruce Williams to the role of Chief Executive Officer for North America.
In his new position, Williams will lead dentsu X’s efforts to help brands grow by creating meaningful experiences that bring people and brands closer with relevance, empathy and cultural understanding. His focus will be on strengthening the agency’s ability to combine media, data, technology and creativity to deliver clear, measurable and long-term growth in today’s algorithm-driven environment.
Commenting on the appointment, Will Swayne, Global Practice President for Media and U.S. Media CEO, said that Williams has shown strong leadership while guiding dentsu X and consistently delivering value for clients. He added that Williams has a clear vision for meeting clients’ current needs while helping them move confidently into the future with innovative solutions, unlocking new growth opportunities in the evolving media landscape.
As CEO, Williams will continue working closely with the dentsu X leadership team to move forward the agency’s strategy. This includes building systems and solutions that support growth through thoughtful experimentation, cultural and community insight, and strong expertise across modern platforms and ecosystems.
Aligned with dentsu X’s belief that powerful experiences drive success, Williams will focus on creating work that simplifies complexity, builds genuine human connections and delivers lasting business impact.
His appointment comes after a strong year for dentsu X, during which the agency secured Agency of Record mandates for brands such as Bet365, ServiceNow and other major players across entertainment, technology and retail.
Sharing his thoughts, Williams said he is proud and excited to take on the role after spending many years with dentsu. He noted that the position allows him to reconnect closely with clients, teams and a culture he deeply values. He added that dentsu X has a strong legacy of guiding clients through periods of change, and that today’s media environment demands the same focus and leadership to drive growth through impactful experiences and results.
Previously, Williams served as Chief Media Officer, Media Americas at dentsu, where he helped shape the company’s media vision and capabilities across the region. During his wider tenure at dentsu, he has also led performance marketing strategies and solutions, overseeing areas such as search, performance creative, retail and commerce. He played a key role in developing a team of more than 500 performance marketing specialists and advancing solutions designed to deliver strong client outcomes.
Dentsu has continued to integrate media, content, data and creative into a single operating model aimed at driving business results. This approach contributed to a growth of over 3.5% in 2025, highlighting the impact of the company’s focus on experience-led growth.
