HP has appointed Bruce Broussard as its Interim Chief Executive Officer, with immediate effect. Broussard has been part of HP’s Board of Directors since 2021. He takes over from Enrique Lores, who has stepped down as President, CEO and Board member to explore a new professional opportunity.

To find a permanent CEO, HP’s Board has set up a CEO Search Committee and engaged a global executive search firm to lead the process.

In his interim role, Broussard will focus on moving HP’s key strategies forward, drawing on his strong background in operations, finance and business leadership, along with his deep understanding of HP’s business. He brings more than 30 years of experience leading publicly listed companies. Most recently, he served as President and CEO of Humana Inc. for over ten years. Before that, he held several senior roles at US Oncology, including CFO, CEO and Chairman, and later became President of the Specialty Pharmacy Division after the company was acquired by McKesson.

Commenting on the appointment, Chip Bergh, Chairman of HP’s Board, said the company is at a critical stage as it continues to shape the future of work. He added that Broussard’s leadership and familiarity with HP make him well suited to guide the company during this transition, while the search for a permanent CEO is underway. Bergh also highlighted Broussard’s strong focus on execution and long-term value creation for shareholders.

Sharing his thoughts, Broussard said he is honoured to step into the role at a time when HP is building momentum across its business. He noted that the leadership team’s focus on operational excellence has positioned the company well, and he looks forward to providing stability and continuity while supporting HP’s long-term strategy. He added that HP will continue strengthening its One HP platform to deliver innovative technology for customers and lasting value for shareholders.

Bergh also thanked Enrique Lores for his long association with HP, spanning more than three decades, including seven years as CEO. He credited Lores for leading HP through a major transformation and preparing the company for future growth.

Reflecting on his journey, Lores said he joined HP nearly 40 years ago as an intern and feels proud to have led the company through its evolution into an AI-driven technology organisation. He highlighted HP’s progress in strengthening its core businesses, expanding into new solutions and investing in its people, and expressed confidence in the company’s long-term direction and leadership team.
