The Walt Disney Company has announced that Josh D’Amaro will become its next Chief Executive Officer. He will officially take over the role at the company’s Annual Meeting on March 18, 2026, succeeding longtime CEO Robert A. Iger. Following the meeting, the Board plans to appoint D’Amaro to the company’s Board of Directors as well.
D’Amaro, 54, currently serves as Chairman of Disney Experiences, a division responsible for bringing Disney’s stories to life through theme parks, cruises, resorts, consumer products, and interactive experiences worldwide. He has led the division since 2020 and has played a key role in driving its financial growth, creative expansion, and improvements in guest satisfaction.
A Disney veteran of 28 years, D’Amaro began his career with the company in 1998 at Disneyland Resort. He later became President of Walt Disney World Resort before taking on his current global leadership role.
Under his leadership, Disney Experiences has launched a major multi-year investment plan worth $60 billion. This includes the addition of new cruise ships, resort developments, themed lands, attractions, and advanced technologies designed to enhance the guest experience for future generations.
D’Amaro oversees Disney’s global parks business, which includes 12 theme parks and 57 resort hotels across six international destinations in the United States, Europe, and Asia. A new Disney theme park is also planned in Abu Dhabi. His responsibilities extend to Disney Cruise Line and other travel and leisure offerings under Disney Signature Experiences.
He also leads Walt Disney Imagineering, the creative team behind Disney’s parks, attractions, and cruise ships worldwide. In addition, he manages Disney’s consumer products business, which includes global licensing for toys, apparel, home products, digital games, apps, and brands such as the NatGeo franchise.
Throughout his career, D’Amaro has helped expand Disney’s well-known franchises by developing immersive attractions such as Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Avengers Campus, Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway, and World of Frozen.
He holds a degree in business administration from Georgetown University. Over the years, he has worked in various leadership roles across finance, marketing, strategy, creative development, and operations in both the United States and international markets.
Outside of his corporate responsibilities, D’Amaro serves on the National Board of Directors of Make-A-Wish America and is part of the United States Travel Association Leadership Roundtable.
